More information about the

Quilt For The Cure
Quilt Block Challenge

American Patchwork and Quilting magazine in partnership with the Susan G Komen Foundation and other quilting manufacturers sponsored a quilt block challenge to raise funds to further research for finding a cure for breast cancer. Tayo's encouraged our customers to support and participate in this excellent event!

Tayo's customers sent over 150 blocks to American Patchwork and Quilting! APQ ended up with over 24,000 blocks - an overwhelming response - and they requested help with assembling the blocks into quilts.

Tayo's requested 20 quilt block kits - each kit included about 42 quilt blocks. Tayo's then donated much of the batting and backing fabric and our generous customers and staff assembled, quilted and finished the quilts! The quilts were then shipped back to APQ for the auction.

We've tried to be as correct as possible listing the names of those who participated on each quilt - if you see a mistake (or an omission) please let us know so we can make the correction!

If you would like to now participate by bidding in this Charity Quilt Auction, go to: www.ebay.com/apqqfc. New quilts are added each week and the auction will run through the end of December, 2004. Be sure to share this opportunity with your family and friends!
